You are here: Home / how can a user program the buttons on their phone?
Users are able to configure the buttons on their telephones via the user commportal. Please follow the instructions below:
- Visit https://phoneware.us.
- Hover your mouse pointer over LOGIN and select USER COMMPORTAL
- Enter your phone’s direct telephone number and your commportal password. If you do not know your direct phone number, you might be able to see it by lifting the handset on your telephone (on Yealink phones). If you do not know your password, you can try the RESET PASSWORD link, or contact support@phoneware.us to have your password reset.
- Once logged into the user commportal, click on the DEVICES link at the lower left of the commportal window. This should open a small window titled “Devices”. Then click on the SET KEYS link. This will take you to a phone management window. If this window does not display, your browser might be blocking popups and you might need to allow them from this website.
- Select your phone model from those displayed and click EDIT. This will take you to the phone configuration screen for your phone.
- To program the buttons on your screen, open “Programmable Keys – Line Keys” by clicking on it.
- Select the button you would like to program by clicking on it. The current settings will open up.
- You can configure the action (such as Speed Dial or Enhanced Monitored Extension), the line to be used (almost always line 1 as most phones only have one line/account configured on them), the number or extension to be dialed or monitored, and the label.
- Once your changes are complete, click on SAVE CHANGES at the lower right. It might take a moment for this save action to respond, so please wait for it to complete.
- Your changes should take place immediately and should show up on your phone within a minute or so, after your phone’s configuration updates.
- You may now close the phone configuration window and user commportal if you’re done.
